Welcome to 2020!

Why, aren’t you lucky to have picked the perfect time to travel to! You must have 20/20
vision! The world is the best it’s ever been!

Politics are the most eventful that they have ever been in history. The two party system is working perfectly to further polarize the nation, it’s fantastic! Now people are extremely passionate and vocal about their beliefs, to a point that spreads hatred all across the world! The most amazing part about modern politics in my opinion is the amount of political “facts” that are spread across social media. I love playing 0 truths and 10 lies every time I go on Donald Trump’s twitter. Little games like that are my favorite!

Oh yeah, didn’t see that one coming, right? You’ve guessed it, the billionaire reality tv star

is now the president of the United States of America. Also, the world is the healthiest it’s ever been! Sike! We are in the middle of a global pandemic, and even with a death toll of a whopping two hundred and twenty thousand deaths, a lot of people are still in denial that the virus exists or is impacting anyone! It’s just a hoax... right?

The one aspect of politics that should be a surprise is the demographic that the presidential candidates fall into. Two old white men, what a shocker! My personal favorite segment of a little show I like to call “Hypocritical Political beliefs” is about the “all lives matter” folks. I find great pride in the fact that a significant chunk of our nation can scream that phrase but have the most hate in their hearts for anyone that isn’t a cisgendered white heterosexual male. I also find great comfort in our president refusing to explicitly condemn white supremacy during a live debate, it restores my faith in humanity just that much more.

I know one thing you’d never imagine would be the cult like behavior of today’s political climate. Houses are covered in flags and posters, and people’s political affiliations have become their main personality traits. Also something that is a huge surprise is the lingering prevalence of racism in modern America! Extremely large “black lives matter” protests occurred all throughout the summer. At least one thing is good for those who have a fear of change; virtually no change has happened in regard to the struggles that black Americans face daily! I love the social progress of our nation, go on girl give us nothing!

After hearing all this I’m sure you’re overjoyed with how perfect of a time you’ve picked to time travel to! The world is a beautiful dumpster fire (literally burning), and a polarized political atmosphere followed by the exciting global pandemic and looming doom of climate change is indeed the best environment to see representing the current state of the world. What ever happened to the future being a utopia? I personally think 2013 was your best bet, right at One Direction's peak!
